Sara Baruh

Born in Istanbul, Sara Baruh has been living in Geneva since 1980. Baruh’s connection with art began at a young age with ballet. Upon settling in Geneva, she developed an interest in painting and art history; subsequently, she completed her art education in this city. Baruh seeks a unique synthesis of Turkish and European cultures in her works, and after figurative approaches she followed in her previous works, she arrived at her current understanding of abstraction. Baruh mostly uses materials such as ink, acrylic, and oil paint, and handmade papers play an important role in her practice. Having participated in numerous exhibitions and fairs in Türkiye and around the world, she continues her artistic production in Geneva.
